what a LOOONG two days!
The yard sale was pretty great. I made $531.60, and I still have a lot of stuff left. I made $90 off the stuff we had around the house (router, lamp, clothes, books), and the rest came from all my stockpile stuff. I spent $10 of the $531 on stuff from the other sellers-- 2 pairs of heels, 2 shirts, and a piano bench. There was also a deduction from my earnings to help cover the cost of supplies/advertising/etc. for the sale. That was probably$7 or something.
Not many people tried to haggle for better prices. I did sell a lot of stuff to the other girls who were in the sale, and I gave them some pretty good breaks. I only ended up compromising about $75 off of my starting prices.
OH MY GOODNESS! Within the first 15 minutes, a woman came and filled up a box full of my stuff. Seriously. She spent $70.25! Didn't even haggle prices or ask for a discount for buying so much. It was AWESOME!!!
I still have 28 air fresheners, a lot of small tubes of toothpaste, and a lot of deodorant. Hot sellers were women's shaving cream, laundry and dish soap, most cleaning products, travel size items, and diapers. I sold all 11 packs!!
Anyway...it was great. I was hoping to sell a little more, but I'm very glad to have made my goal of $500.
Now to buy GHWT!

Holy freakin' yard sale, Tash. Did you sell the things you have been buying/saving on for months now? Like from Walgreens and CVS?
Yes. I think I'm going to keep shopping all summer and then have another sale before we move this fall.
I did the math, and overall (before the sale) I had spent about .42 per item from CVS & Walgreens (and some Walmart and Target). This includes the 200 or so items that we kept for our own use. My average selling price for the sale was $1.69, which is 300% profit! Now my average cost for ALL items is -31 cents. :D
Well played.
